It's hard to imagine how an update can go out and be seeded amongst so many users, without checking the functionality of something as basic as being able to save and re-open one's work. (The other being the "corrupted file" problem of a few months ago that many users experienced.) This is the second time I have had to diagnose a show-stopping problem at a sound check, both time the result of an upgrade to Mainstage that has only created critical problems. All the revisions I made in my most recent session are lost, and I don't even have the option of re-doing them, since if I save my work the saved session will no longer open. I discovered this today at a soundcheck, which took over an hour to diagnose. progress bar freezes at certain point and then Mainstage crashes. 3.2.3 will not open any concerts saved in 3.2.3. Until they get these issues working, I can't use 3.2.3. Not sure, but I suspect there are features I use features in my Concerts that are not working in 3.2.3. I was able to build simple concerts in 3.2.3 and then re-open those, however I was never successful using my concerts from 3.2.2 with 3.2.3. I have had to disable automatic updates on both laptops. Once saved, they could not be reopen again in 3.2.3. Each time I attempted to use 3.2.3 version I would get the same result with my Concerts built from 3.2.2 and then saved in 3.2.3. I try multiple times on 2 different laptops, a MacBook Air with Yosemite OS and a Mac Book Pro with El Capitan 10.11.2 (15C50). I had to go back into my time machine and restore the previous, 3.2.2. I could load a concert from 3.2.2 version and then save, however the next time I try to opened MainStage 3.2.3 it just hangs with the window, " Loading Concert. I was having the same issue with version 3.2.3. I also save any customized Channel Strip settings (from the "Channel Strip" drop down menu) to avoid having to rebuild these too. If you have to rebuild, I also found that saving the Concert as a patch (from the "Save as Patch" drop down menu in the Patch List) makes rebuilding MUCH easier. Just in case, I also use the "Save As" file command to save a back up of a known good Concert under the name "BackUp". I now only save to iCloud if I have a bulletproof fast connection (a full Concert can be a 1G file.) I was saving my concerts to both a local drive and to iCloud (for a back up.) Sometimes the iCloud backups would get flaky - I'm not sure why. I check this every once in a while to make sure.Ģ. I made sure the channel strips all match the hardware I am using at the time. I found out that in switching between multi-output hardware setups, some stereo channel strips would become mono and vice versa. I also moved to a new hardware driver updated for El Capitan, but the corruption had stopped before thatġ. I made two changes to my workflow, but can't tell you which one, if either, solved the corruption issue. I used to have the corruption problem, but have been corruption-free for the last 2 or 3 months.
